Shiawassee Youth Advisory Council News- Dr. Nicholas Skarich Memorial Bench Unveiled

In a touching tribute to the late Dr. Nicholas Skarich, a beloved veterinarian known for his deep love for animals and nature, the Shiawassee Community Foundation-Youth Advisory Council (YAC) unveiled a beautiful memorial bench at DeVries on September 30, 2023. Dr. Skarich passed away tragically on January 18, 2023, following complications from a stroke, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and service to the Shiawassee County community.

A Tribute to a Remarkable Life

Dr. Nicholas Skarich was not only a dedicated veterinarian but also a loving husband and father. His profound connection with animals and his passion for nature resonated with many in the community. His daughter, Quinn, served as the YAC secretary, making his loss deeply felt within the organization. Recognizing the significant impact he had on the community, YAC decided to create a lasting memorial in his honor. They carefully selected a beautiful and durable composite bench, which now stands as a testament to his memory at DeVries.
