Advanced ACEs Training: Turning Awareness into Action

On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, the Shiawassee Community Foundation and partners will host an Advanced ACEs Training at the Baker College Welcome Center from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This session, is designed for participants who have already completed the introductory Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Trauma Training.

Most of us now understand what ACEs are—potentially traumatic experiences that occur in childhood and can have lasting impacts on health, development, and well-being. The question is: What comes next?

This training moves beyond awareness to focus on prevention and response. Through interactive small group discussions, participants will:

  • Develop personal and professional action steps they can take immediately
  • Learn how to foster resilience in both children and adults
  • Explore community-level strategies to strengthen support systems and build healthier futures

By bringing together professionals and community members from diverse backgrounds, this session will create space to share insights, challenge assumptions, and collaborate on ways to make meaningful change.

Because this is an advanced training, a pre-requisite is required: participants must have previously completed the introductory ACEs Trauma Training. That foundation provides the knowledge needed to fully engage in this action-focused workshop.

At its heart, this session is about turning knowledge into impact. When we understand ACEs, we can take steps to help children, families, and communities thrive.

📢 Space is limited for this event, so early registration is encouraged.
